REVIEW :
After the huge success of New Pulsar 220 F and Pulsar 135 LS Bajaj India has launch another variant of Pulsar 220 which has been christened Pulsar 220 S. Here "S" stands for Street like in current Pulsar 220 variant "F" stands for Faired.  The bike resembles the Pulsar 200 along with the engine and features of the Pulsar 220. The Pulsar 220 S has been priced Rs. 3,000 less than the F version. The new Bajaj Pulsar 220 is reported to the fastest Indian bike ever built. Bajaj team has successfully reached the top speed of 144 kmph and thus made the bike as the fastest bike in the country . New Pulsar 220cc's gear ratio is optimized to achieve the top speed. Also Pulsar 220 has been priced very competitively to its main rivals - Yamaha R15 & Karizma ZMR.

TECH SPECS :
Though Pulsar is not technically advanced like R15 & ZMR but if you compare the price then Pulsar 220 is much better option. Pulsar 220 is also more powerful with 21 Bhp on tap in Comparison to Karizma ZMR's 17.6 Bhp and Yamaha R15's 17 Bhp. So, if you wanna pay less for more power then simply go for New Pulsar 220. New Bajaj Pulsar 220 S gets all new 220cc oil cooled carburetored engine with 21 Bhp of power at 8500rpm and 19 NM of torque. Other changes to the engine insides include new combustion chamber, all new port geometry for optimized thermodynamics, new valve coat material to eliminate cardon formation, new design short skirt lower friction piston, an all new camshaft and 33% larger oil cooler.

PERFORMANCE:
The new 220 S gets the performance boost with 32 venturi carburettor, the bigest ever used in India. In addition, the intake port in the cylinder head has been modified, along with higher lift and duration cam. A larger resonator and catalytic converter is also used to increase performance. It also uses temperature based ignition mapping system through which the ignition timing is optimized to acheive good startability, quick warm up and outstanding torque. New Pulsar 220cc features the standard five speed gearbox with one down and four up pattern.

LOOKS & STYLING :
New Bajaj Pulsar 220 S will be same in terms of looks and styling. The only difference will be that it will be without fairing. It will featurethe ‘all-black’ theme like Pulsar 150 & 180. Starting from the forks, swingarm, wheels and engine are all in a rich shade of black and that makes the bike look much leaner and meaner. It will come with six spoke alloy wheels, stylish body panels, clear lens indicators and exposed chain. It offers a little under-seat storage cubby that can be unlocked via a cable release located under its lockable side panel. With the removal of the semi fairing, the bike also sheds off the projectors it sported on the F version. While the 220 F and the 220 DTS-Fi were the best and the most applauded bikes when it came to lightning dark roads and highways because of the projectors they came fitted with, this bike would need to do without all of that. The new Pulsar 220 S also gets the new 3-D graphics, redesigned console background and slightly revised clip-on handlebars.

HERO HONDA KARIZMA R 223cc pictures,review,price,mileage

courtesy : autos.maxabout.com
Design and Styling Of Karizma R:
Karizma R looks very stylish with black alloy die-cast wheels dual light tailpiece, front indicators, the fairing, silencer unit, stepped up seat, panel shapes and new yellow black instrument binnacle. The fairing is not a full one which can be seen on sports bikes but nevertheless it was never before there on any Indian bike. The tank doesn't look big like the Pulsar's bulky tank but it holds 15 liters of fuel.
The trapezoidal headlamp unit up front looks great and the Illumination is brilliant which is unmatched by any bike in the country. The guide lamps are superb and borrowed from the Royal Enfields. The tank recesses easily accommodated the legs of our tallest testers. The amber backlighting for instruments is exciting. Being connected directly to the battery, all lights and instruments work independently of the rpm of the engine, and are a boon at night.
New Karizma ZMR will be sold along with old Karizma model, Hero Honda has decided not to phase out Karizma R and sell both the models side by side.

Comfort & Ride Quality Of Karizma R:
The sporty position of the seat offers the best possible seating position for the rider although the pillion seat could have been a little bit more longer. Even on long journeys, the back support is very good and the front shock-absorbers do a great job of damping the vibrations. The rear shock-absorbers are perfect for Indian Road conditions which mostly consist of pot-holes and speed breakers. The rear rider's comfort levels aren't all that great and could have done with some more thinking and concentration on that aspect.
Though the riding position is very sporty and similar to that on the older CBZ, it feels different. The long wheelbase at 1355mm helps stability. Gripping the wide bars, the rush of pleasure with its linear torque is a feeling difficult to put in words. Stability at any and every speed is top class. Turn-in is excellent and cornering is admirable. The way the suspension is set up and mated with the single downtube conventional frame is excellent.

Engine and Performance Of Karizma R:
It is powerred by 17BHP 223cc single cylinder engine from the stables of Honda, who are possibly the best engine manufacturers world-wide.The shift lever is a sporty one and has a 1 down 4 up sports-bike like shift pattern. The motor is silky smooth across all bands of power and never shows signs of tiring and goes on and on and on. It seems as if you still have loads of power even at speeds of 100kmph. The idling speed of the engine is best set around.
The gearbox employs a tall close ratio fourth and fifth gear with lower gearing for the first three gears. This works out well giving one sufficient power out on the highway, yet not making the bike tough to ride around town. A wet multi-plate clutch is employed and feels perfect, with just the correct amount of feedback. Thumb the starter and the first thing you will notice is the refinement of the engine. The main important things are that you shouldn't open up the throttle and try speeding away. Gear shifts and acceleration should be gradual. A smooth driving style with minimal gear shifts is to be followed.
Fuel Economy Of Karizma R:
Equipped with a larger capacity engine, the Karizma's mileage figures depend on how it is ridden. Under city riding conditions, the bike returned 30kpl and on the highway testing runs surprised with an impressive 45kpl at a speed of 70kph. Overall is a great bike with superb refinement, comfort and great handling. It is a highly capable and stylish bike but high price puts it out of reach for many.
